THE LEGEND OF LIZZIE BORDEN
On a hot afternoon in Falls River, Massachusetts an unspeakable crime occurred. A crime so horrible that it would be remembered forever in a jump rope rhyme: Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother 40 whacks And when she saw what she had done She gave her father 41
Lizzie Borden was born in July 1860 to Andrew Jackson Borden, a prominent citizen of Fall River Massachusetts and Sarah, who died when Lizzie was almost three years old. Sarah's death left Andrew with full guardianship of his little daughter Lizzie and her older sister Emma. In 1865 he married a woman named Abby Gray, and they lived a peaceful life. In her adult years Lizzie was known as a spinster, she attended church frequently even teaching Sunday school. Andrew had become wealthy but in the process had also become quite tight with his money, not caring to live as nice as they could have for a family of their stature and this infuriated the girls. In the 1880's against his daughters opposition, Andrew bought his wife's half-sister a home and this made the girls take a disliking to Abby as they fought constantly about it. Though Andrew tried to mend his broken family it only got worse. Supposedly someone began stealing from the home so they each put locks on their doors. It is also said that Andrew would only be leaving Lizzie and Emma a small sum of money upon his death and everything else to Abby including property that would be split up between her relatives.
In August 1892 Lizzie returned home from an extended trip with her sister visiting friends (Emma stayed behind) and while home a peculiar thing happened. One day after finishing breakfast they all became violently ill, Abby suspected they had been poisoned but it was not followed up. On August 4th Lizzie's uncle came to visit and he and Andrew went to town. Andrew returned alone and fell asleep downstairs on the couch, his coat and shoes still on. The maid was said to be upstairs doing errands until she decided to take a nap. She was awaken by Lizzie screaming that her father had been killed, come quick. Lizzie stated that she had gone out to the barn and someone had come in and killed her father. Andrew Borden had been killed with a hatchet or axe which crushed his head and cleanly split his left eye. It was not until the doctor arrived that they found Abby Borden upstairs, stumped forward. She had been murdered by the same weapon except her blows had been delivered from behind, most likely while she was making the bed. Lizzie claimed that her father must have been murdered while she went out to fetch something in the barn but then how could she explain her step-mothers death? According to the doctor she had died 1-2 hours before Andrew. Eventually Lizzie was charged with murder due to her friends testimony as well as a store clerks who testified that she tried to buy poison from him days before the murders. She was charged with the murder of her father, mother and both of them in a trial that lasted fourteen days. Later, she was found not guilty due to insufficient evidence.
It has been over a hundred years since these bloody murders and still no one knows if Lizzie killed her parents or some mad man did. The former maid was said to have delivered one last message on her death bed, "Lizzie did it."
Countess Elizabeth Bathory Well known for its legends and lore of dark magic and Vampirism, Transylvania has always had its “stake” in the heart of legend. Home to the most horrific serial killer of its day; Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler) or Count Dracula. Transylvania would give birth to a new evil and her name was Elizabeth Bathory. Elizabeth was born in 1560 to one of the oldest families in Translvania, the Bathory's. The Bathory family name brought about hundreds of rumors including incest, monstrous births and mental illness. When Elizabeth was but 15 she wed Count Ferenc Nádasdy who gave to her as a wedding gift Csejte Castle. Some time after their marriage Count Forenc became commander of a Hungarian army and while her husband was away , she would play and not in a nice way . Elizabeth was a very smart woman, running the castle and the problems that surrounded it including helping to keep invasions at bay. However she would become more famous for her hobbies than her work. One day as she sat getting her hair brushed by one of her servant girls, the girl accidentally pulled her hair too hard. The Countess became infuriated and struck the girl so hard across the face that she drew blood. When she saw the girls face all bloody the countess believed that she saw the area surrounding the blood grow more youthful and revitalized. This belief would send her on a silent and horrific spree. With the help of some of her most trusted confidants, which included a supposed witch and her servant, she began recruiting young local girls with promises of work only to kill them for their blood in her castle. She continued this bloodlust from 1601 to 1611 bathing and drinking blood in the name of beauty. In 1611 the King who had been hearing rumors of these horrendous acts, decided to put the “rumors” at rest by investigating the Countess. Invading her castle he found staggering evidence that the allegations where true. The King was so disgusted that he decided to hold a series of trials in which he would oversee. He sentenced the witch/servants to immediate execution but because of Elizabeth's status she could not be criminally prosecuted. Instead the King ordered her to her castle never to roam free. To make sure she stayed put he had her walled up in one of the rooms in which she committed her acts. The only light given to her was from a small hole in the wall which was used for giving her food. On July 31st 1614 Elizabeth “Countess Dracula” died as she lived...In Darkness. |
HOODED FIGURES One very late night 1 year ago, I awoke for some reason, I am unsure why, and it was about 3 or 4am. The room was dark and the only light was that shining through the windows blinds as they swung because of the ceiling fan. I saw standing next to my husband's side of the bed a hooded/ robed figure. I promise you I was wide awake and I could see this robed figure surrounded by thousands of green orbs. So many orbs that they were clustered on one another. There was no inkling that the figure saw me or maybe he did not care as I struggled to move. I was completely paralyzed and while struggling I noticed a single diamond -shaped, three dimensional orb floating towards me, spinning as it came closer. Finally I was able to wiggle my toes and nudge my husband who still did not wake up. However the robed figure saw me do this and then he turned and walked towards my bathroom which was straight ahead across from my bed and walked through the wall. When he left I was able to get my strength back and I sat up quickly and turned on the television. |
There have been many cases involving these hooded figures. Some think of them as angels because the figure delivered a warning to them or helped them in some way. Some people think they are Aliens, while others have no clue what these hooded figures are. Author Brad Steiger has been studying them for years and you can even read accounts about these robed entities in his book; Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits and Haunted Places. Do you dress in the stereotypical Vampyre attire?
I have a robe of course that's more a spiritual thing which also has a lot to do with being a vampyre but I rarely wear fangs anymore but it is always fun to dress up and I only dress the way I like.
Have you ever drank someone's blood?
Yes, but the need is much more than I am able to get.
What type of Vampyre would you consider yourself?
Just a Vampyre, I don't like to limit myself especially with needing more than I used to.
Are you the egotistical, blood thirsty, womanizer that Vampyres are portrayed as in the movies?
I have a big ego but I am in a serious relationship. I am very thirsty but not out of control or a murderer. I have never harmed a soul.
Lizzie Bed and Breakfast
A landmark since the axe murders, the house on 92 Second Street is currently a bed and breakfast. It is open to all of those who think themselves brave enough to sleep in the room of the murdered, Abby Borden or the accused Lizzie Borden. You also have the choice of sleeping in the room of the others who dwelled in the Borden home. Each of the rooms have been made to look the same as they did the exact day of the murders. And if you make it through the night without wimping out, in the morning you get a breakfast similiar to the one eaten on that fateful day in 1892. Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast also offers collectibles and memorabilia of Fall River and The Borden's.
To possibly make our Temple Official as well as Vampyrism as spiritual and not just a Lifestyle but what we are.
